MY JOURNEY TO SHAMELESSNESS

(a shameless interview with Benahili by Benahili)

What exactly does being shameless mean to me?

To me, being shameless means being FEARLESS, BOLD and CONFIDENT (these words mean almost the same thing but this is the best way I can express it TBH).
Before I started my youtube channel, I never imagined ever being shy or uncomfortable in front of a camera because being a talk show host was something I always wanted.

On the set of my first video, I found myself blushing a lot and saying all the wrong things. The video just wasn’t what I wanted. The lighting was bad, the sound quality was low and I didn’t feel confident about the sound of my voice or my phonetics.

After the video was uploaded, I got some negative feedback and positive ones from loved ones. When some of my friends watched the video for the first time in front of me I could tell that they were disappointed because they expected so much more. Then my video got its first dislikes and that was the peak of my “shamefulness” lol.

Why didn’t I just give up after my first video?

I couldn’t. I just couldn’t. I knew I had to keep pushing plus I was really excited about the idea of filming a video in an unauthorised location. I had a lot of fun that day but I was really stressed out and it almost affected the outcome of the video immensely.

After I uploaded that video I expected to hit my first 1000 views lol, it was the opposite. I didn’t even get as many views as I did on my first video. It was so discouraging.

                                  

So why haven’t I uploaded any video after that?

Well not uploading videos was never the plan. It just happened. I wasn’t editing my own videos or filming them myself, my friends (God bless them) were handling that and exams were approaching so I had to give them a break plus I was really busy with the Kanekalon “docummercial”  then It was time for my industrial placement so that has been taking a lot of my time.

Do I plan on releasing any videos soon?

YES!!! Yes I will be filming and publishing a couple of vlogs very soon. Sooner than you think.

What will they be about?

They’ll be about me, my life, my opinion, my tricks and hacks, my dogs, my friends, my family and most importantly, me sharing my journey to shamelessness  with you guys.

Are there people in my life who inspire me?

Yes there are and one of my biggest inspirations at the moment is the multi-talented youtuber Shameless Maya. She is one of the most goal oriented and hardworking people I’ve had the pleasure of stalking on social media. There’s my boss, I love our little chats and of course my friends! The fact that they see me as an inspiration to keep chasing their dreams and do what they love just inspires me to work harder and do better in life so I can inspire even more people.
